Writing: Goodbye Bad Times

Isabelle, Daniel and I have been working on several new songs. The first to be finished is our latest collaboration "Goodbye Bad Times."  We performed it live for the very first time this past Thursday night at The Cascade Room and all were pleasantly surprised at how well it was received!  Once again we've asked our brilliant friend, the artist Robert Edmonds, to create a cover for the song and I'm intrigued to see what it inspires.  This idea was born of a late night jam Isabelle and I had after a band rehearsal night. We'd gone for a late dinner and returned to the studio a bit intoxicated and just started playing around with the instruments We sent Dan a voice memo sometime in the wee hours and forgot about it. In his own remarkable fashion Dan then showed up to our next rehearsal with a fully thought out guitar part with changes and chorus ideas. We were working on Danser tout le temps pretty hard at this point so we noted it but set it aside for a month or...

We are very excited about our new single "danser tout le temps".  It is our first time going back to the dance rock sound we started out with in a long time. With Dan Clement's influence I think our sound has gotten a lot more lively and we are pushing up the tempo to match. Danser is the result of our collaborations and it is plain to hear the difference.  Listen anywhere you want it is streaming now! click thru It is a small note that the mix on Spotify and YouTube are slightly different. We made a funny intro to the song on the first demo where we added in a big crowd sound effect and Isabelle gave a Bonsoir Paris! into the mic. Our watch the video , which has been very well received I'm happy to say. Thanks for reading, lots of music on go these days. Looking forward to June 8th at the Rickshaw!

After several years off the stage we are now booked to perform as the opener for The Aleatonics album release party December 1st at Lana Lou's .    Isabelle and I are rehearsing for our first show on stage in many years. Joining us is our long time friend Daniel Clement on guitar. We shall be debuting a few brand new songs and of course our latest single " Crazy Story ."  Speaking of Crazy Story, it's a pleasure to announce it has crossed 11 thousand plays on Spotify . The song has been added to a few popular playlists and it seems to be our most popular track to date. We are happy about that!  Our next single Rushes Over Me is about to be mastered and we need to figure out some kind of video for it next.  Many things happening right now and it's all feeling fun again! Thanks for reading, and hope you can make it down to Lana Lou's on Thursday December 1st!

The Polyphonic Spree and Obsessive Listening

A few weeks back we had the pleasure of seeing the Polyphonic Spree perform live here in Vancouver.  That was the second time we've witnessed the spectacle of that massive band performing in our city.  This show, though a little smaller than the previous one we caught on their Fragile Army tour (I think they had 21 people on stage then, this tour had 17) was just as enjoyable, maybe even more so as we were closer to them all in Venue than we'd been at the Commodore. I kinda admire and love The Polyphonic Spree .  They have good songs, a wonderful live show and an inherently positive feel and message to their music.  Tim DeLaughter is a great frontman for the band, conducting them with passion and humour.  If you haven't seen The Polyphonic Spree yet, do so, they are more that worth whatever the ticket price may be, and will reward you with energy for days to come. The weekend we saw the band I decided that buying their latest album ( Yes, It's True) wasn't...
